Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before booking, from appointments and prices to hormones, nutrition and The WINGS Method.

Booking & appointments

Do I need a referral from my GP?

There's no need. Just book directly with us, online or in person.

Can I have my appointment online?

Yes. We offer video appointments anywhere in the UK, as well as in person appointments in the North West.

How long is a first appointment?

Your first consultation is an unhurried 60 minutes, so there's time to talk through everything.

What should I bring?

Any recent blood test results, a list of medicines and supplements you take, and if you can, a note of your symptoms and period dates. Don't worry if you don't have these. We'll still make the most of your time.

Will I need an internal examination?

No. Our appointments don't include internal examinations. If something needs examining, we'll explain why and guide you to your GP.

Can my partner come with me?

Yes, if you'd like them to. Some women prefer to come alone, and that's completely fine too.

Prices & payment

How much does a consultation cost?

First consultations start from £XX, follow up reviews from £XX, and nutrition consultations from £XX.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. You can spread the cost of your appointments with Klarna.

Are blood tests included?

Confirm whether blood tests are included or charged separately, and the cost.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your care

Who will I see?

Our team is led by a doctor and a nutritionist, a mother and daughter team who work together so your medical care and nutrition are joined up.

What conditions do you help with?

Perimenopause, menopause, PCOS (PMOS), PMS and PMDD, thyroid conditions, period and cycle problems, and low libido. If you're not sure, speak to our team and we'll guide you.

Can you share my plan with my GP?

Yes. With your permission, we'll send your GP a summary of your plan, so your care stays joined up.

How often will I need a follow up?

It depends on your plan. We'll suggest the right timing for you, and you can always book sooner if something changes.

Hormones & HRT

Do I need a blood test to know if I’m perimenopausal?

Usually not, if you're over 45. Perimenopause is normally recognised from your symptoms, because hormone levels change from day to day. Blood tests can still be useful in some cases, such as if you're younger or to rule out other causes.

Is HRT safe?

For most women under 60, the benefits of HRT usually outweigh the risks. It depends on your personal and family health history, so we'll go through this carefully with you before any decision is made.

Do you offer testosterone for women?

Where appropriate, yes. UK guidance supports testosterone for low sexual desire in menopause when HRT alone hasn't helped enough. We'll talk through whether it's right for you.

Do you offer saliva or urine hormone tests?

No. These tests aren't recommended in UK guidance. When tests are useful, we use blood tests, and always look at your symptoms too.

Nutrition & The WINGS Method

What is The WINGS Method?

Our signature approach to nutrition: protein powered, micronutrient led, whole food eating, built around your hormones. The details are personalised in your consultation.

Is it a diet?

Not in the usual sense. There's no crash dieting, calorie counting obsession or cutting out food groups. It's a realistic way of eating that fits your life.

Do I need to buy supplements?

Not usually. Food comes first, and we only suggest supplements if your blood tests or symptoms show a gap.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

Yes. We build plant based plans using beans, lentils, tofu, eggs, dairy and other protein rich foods.
